We do love Halloween! Every year, creating the ghouliest cake recipe ever is all we can think about. But… in 2020? Baker’s block. Until one day, in the velvet darkness of the blackest night, the four perfect words popped in our sick minds: ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW!
Of course you do know about the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Who doesn’t? This movie is the most exciting musical of the seventies!
Mixing comedy, horror, science fiction, transvestite, and an illegal amount of glitter, this is a celebration of kitsch, of sexuality, of fun.
A fantastic parody and tribute to old horror movies that cannot be forgotten. Starting with this iconic character: Dr Frank n Furter!
For us bakers, it was almost impossible not to be inspired by such a performance.
Baking a Sweet Transvestite cake
After a few awkward sketches and -ahem- bizarre tests, we finally got what we wanted: the perfect batch of Sweet Transvestite pumpkin cupcakes!
Hear us out, fellow creatures of the night: moist pumpkin cake for the tradition, sweet butterscotch icing, and the sultriest cinnamon swiss meringue buttercream you’ll ever taste. Oh, and vanilla cookies.
Slutty. Uncompromising. Deadly.
