Listen up, night-dwellers! Halloween is right in the corner which can only mean one thing: the Yummy Awards are back. This year, after a fierce voting session, Siouxsie and The Banshees won the cake. Literally.
Here, at Sound Eaters headquarters, we love Halloween. It’s our most beloved moment of the year and the perfect time to launch another Yummy Awards competition. What’s that, you might ask? Well, for special occasions, we give our Instagram followers the opportunity to choose the band they want us to turn into a cake. We organize celebrity deathmatches and then, we unleash our creativity to make them happy! This year, the gothic Queen Siouxsie stole everyone’s hearts… Ready to see our new cake creation? Let’s go!
A super spooky Yummy Award for Siouxsie and The Banshees
Halloween and rock’n’roll are a perfect match and we’ve baked lots of cake for this occasion :
- We created pumpkin cupcakes for the awesome musical Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- We whipped twin brothers’ treats for The Cure on October 31st.
- We celebrated the band Ghost by making a Papa Emeritus layer cake.
Last year, the community also voted for a very special Gorillaz topsy-turvy cake, and boy, did we have fun with this theme! 2023 had to be even more awesome. So we asked our beloved IG community to send suggestions and the list was pretty long: Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Slayer, The Cure, B-52, Michael Jackson, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, The Cramps, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Nick Cave and many more.
After some pretty intense voting, the results arrived and the Sound Eaters community chose a legendary rock’n’roll Queen: Siouxsie and The Banshees won by popular demand and we brainstormed like mad scientists to turn this band into a delicious gothic cake.
A cake for the original Gothic Queen
We imagined a sinful symphony of flavors: a rich, moist chocolate triple-layer cake, draped in a blend of velvety chocolate and vanilla buttercream. A devilish temptation that will haunt everyone’s night forever.
Will you be brave enough to taste this slice of darkness? š Happy Halloween, witches!
