Fellow rock addicts, let’s jump off the rock bandwagon for a while. Today, we’d like to make you discover a great, yet unfortunately underrated, folk artist. We had Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young… Now, we have Alela Diane.
Baking a cake for Alela Diane
Alela Diane is an old, beautiful soul with an incredible, haunting voice. Her songwriting is poignant, luminous, and insanely beautiful. We tell you more about her here.

Alela Diane was on our bucket list for ages and we finally had the chance to see her live last Sunday. We ended up in tears. At the end of the gig, we went to talk with her, and discovered an adorable, gentle person. While chatting, she told us her favorite treat was carrot cake and banana cake. We decided to do both, by creating a comforting vegan cake with rich flavors: autumnal spices, crunchy pecan nuts and pistachios, and maple syrup buttercream.
Thank you Alela for inspiring us this cake!
