Here ye, metal lovers, there’s a disturbance in the Force and you should remember its name: Ashen.
It’s been a while since we had a band crush, and this one is massive. We saw the Parisian band Ashen at the Hellfest Festival, a few months ago, and our heads have been spinning ever since. These guys just released one of the best French metal albums we’ve ever heard: Chimera. Here’s why you should check them out. Like, right now!
Why Ashen Are the Real Deal
There are so many mindblowing metal bands out there, but every once in a while, one comes along that just hits different. That’s Ashen. We witnessed these five young guys unleash pure fury on the Hellfest Festival, and they had everything the best performers got: raw, furious voices, charisma, and burning songs. When we saw them live, we went from “who are these guys?” to “holy hell, this band is insane” in a matter of seconds. And believe us, everyone was talking about them after that.
Ashen is a French metalcore quintet: Clement Richard on vocals, Tristan Broggia on Drums, Niels Tozer and Antoine Zimer on guitar, and Nathan Hakoune, a new addition to the band. These guys are armed with riffs sharp enough to cut glass, and their songs are dangerously addictive. Their music is ambitious, but never pretentious, fiery, yet grounded. Ashen are bold, authentic, and ready to take over.

The French metal scene has been on fire lately, and Ashen are eager to stand tall on the global stage. We hope they meet success.
Why You Need to Listen to Chimera
Their new album, Chimera, is a monster. Dark, emotional, and beautifully unpredictable. It got that rare mix of brutality and vulnerability that keeps you hooked.
The vocals alone are worth the listen: brutal growls colliding with clean, almost fragile moments. It’s like hearing someone fight their own demons in real time. Tracks like “Cover Me Red”, « Oblivion », and “Crystal Tears” are perfect examples of that tension: violent yet intimate, ferocious yet human.
Chimera feels huge, but never too much. Emotional, but never melodramatic. Every detail matters, and that’s what makes it so addictive. It’s all in the feels.
We tell you, Ashen are promised a bright future, and with Chimera, they’ve carved their name deep into the sound of modern metal.
And yes, this gem deserves cake! Stay Tuned.
