Placebo have always held a very special place in our hearts and we’ve been dreaming of baking a Placebo cake for years.
As you may know, we met during a Placebo gig, 15 years ago, and waited for the show to begin, chatting about pastry and stuff. Needless to say, this band means the world to us!
A treat for Placebo
Today, we finally got a good enough idea to celebrate this one-of-a-kind band. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, we thought a Without You I’m Nothing theme would be perfect. We did our best to recreate the both melancholic and romantic feel of this album. The result? A bittersweet Opera twin cake: vanilla biscuit with a dark chocolate ganache for the first one, and chocolate biscuit with white chocolate ganache for the other. The cakes are bonded by a delicious lemon cream, with tonka and ginger spices.
